Biological agriculture

It excludes the use of most synthetic chemicals, both in fertilizers and phytosanitary products which are used to treat or prevent diseases and / or parasites.

The nourishment (fertilization) of the soil and the protection of plants (phytosanitary) must therefore be ensured by the use of fertilizers and pesticides resulting from or derived from natural substances, labeled, certified by European and national organic agencies.

In this article, we are talking in particular about arborists (fruit producers), and not breeders and agricultural specialties.

What is organic farming?

This idea is not new, it even dates from 1920, then regularly constructed and argued.

The main methods of organic farming to improve soil fertility and protect crops include crop rotation, green manure and compost, biological control and mechanical cultivation.
In fact, it aims to produce while preserving and supporting the sustainability of soils and bio-systems.

This poses a lot of problem for us, and of energy, because during this, nature does not remain inactive!

What is the difference between organic farming and reasoned farming?

Reasoned agriculture does not prohibit the use of pesticides. Reasoned agriculture uses pesticides only when necessary, if no other solution is possible.

Because being an ecological farmer requires much more work than conventional (conventional agriculture is that which uses chemicals for fertilizer and treatment, here is the difference between organic and conventional agriculture).

Why is organic farming difficult?

Because it's not just about putting the plants in the ground and waiting for them to grow! This is not how it happens: the organic farmer must achieve substantial yields for his farm to live and progress. Here is the difference between organic and conventional.

It is not a garden, it is a full-fledged farm!

And natural fertilizers and various inputs necessary for trees have a high cost because their productions do not rely on gigantic chemical factories!

In addition, even natural fertilizer inputs are legally limited, and therefore plants and trees develop much more slowly. This further delays the start of profitability of the operation.

The same goes for treatment products (diseases and pests), but with one more difficulty: they have learned to resist chemical treatment and are therefore increasingly resistant! They are even more so with "organic" treatments.

So producing organic is a real path to redemption for the farmer, and you have to hang on to follow this path :)
